The Sheriffs Office has an Explorer Post for the young adults interested in law
enforcement.
The post is chartered with the Boy Scouts of America in Stark County. The post is a
division of the Reserve Deputy Program and is supervised by members of the Sheriffs
Reserve Unit.
The Explorers assist the Sheriffs Office and Reserve Unit at many of the special
events throughout the year. They provide tours of the Sheriffs Office and
fingerprinting to young adults and children in Stark County.
The post has approximately twenty Explorers and is always interested in recruiting new
members.
Presently we have five deputies with the Sheriffs Office that began their careers as
Explorers and are now employed as full-time deputies.
