FBI National Academy appoints Sheriff Swanson to Executive BoardSheriff Tim Swanson reports that the FBI National Academy Associates Executive Board has appointed him to the Executive Board of the Ohio Chapter. Sheriff Swanson will hold the position of Historian for the Year 2000. Final approval will be established from a vote to be held by the entire membership on June 7th, 2000, at the Wig Wam (conference center) in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. This is the first position (chair) in a total of seven positions on the Executive Board of the FBI National Academy Associates. Sheriff Umpleby was also a past president of the Ohio Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (1992). It's a great honor to have been selected to fill the position of Historian and begin the journey through the chairs of the FBINA. Sheriff Swanson graduated from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA., in March of 1994. The training is an intense eleven-week commitment covering a variety of law enforcement courses with other law enforcement officers from around the world. There have been a total of four individuals from the Sheriff' Office to attend and graduate from the academy: Sheriff Umpleby, Sheriff Swanson, Major Perez and Lieutenant Shankle. Timothy A.
