“STARK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE METRO NARCOTICS UNIT COMPLETES A THREE MONTH LONG INVESTIGATION RECOVERING 125 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA AND ONE KILOGRAM OF COCAINE”
Canton, OH – Sheriff George T. Maier reports that the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Metro Narcotics Unit and the DEA Completed a three month investigation into Trafficking of Cocaine and Marijuana in Stark County.
During this investigation, Agents recovered 125 pounds of marijuana and one kilogram of cocaine. The marijuana has a street value of $125,000.00. The cocaine has a street value of over $40,000.00. This case is being presented to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio where it is anticipated that seven (7) individuals will be charged by Secret Indictment with Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana, Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Federal Firearms Charges.
This was a joint investigation in collaboration with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, BCI, Medina County Drug Unit, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Massillon Police Department, and the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office Metro Narcotics Unit is made up of personnel from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, the Canton Police Department, the Jackson Township Police Department, the North Canton Police Department, the Louisville Police Department, the Lawrence Township Police Department, and the DEA.
This case is still under investigation and additional charges could be pending.
