DEPUTIES INVESTIGATE BANK ROBBERY
Sheriff George T. Maier reports that on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at approximately 3:47 PM, two black males entered the Bank of Magnolia located at 3221 Cleveland Avenue, SW in Canton, one wearing a bandana over his face and one wearing a sheer mask over his face. One jumped the counter and began gathering money. The other one had a gun in his hand and stood in the lobby. They took money from the bank and fled in a white 2013 Toyota Camry rental car.
A bank employee followed the suspect vehicle providing detailed description and direction of travel. The Canton Police Department located the vehicle near 1418 13th St SE. The Canton Police Department and Deputies from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office located Christopher Thomas Jones B/M (4/4/89) at 1421 Sherrick Rd SE. He was found with money and stains from dye packs on him and was arrested and booked at the Stark County Jail for Aggravated Robbery F1 and several other misdemeanor warrants.
The Stark County
Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are continuing the investigation. One suspect is
still at large and is described as a B/M approximately 5’08” and 210 pounds,
black shirt, black pants, blue and white gloves.
