Stark County Sheriff Shield

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office responded to residential alarm at 11:53 P.M. Saturday (11-21-09) in Plain Township.

Deputies arrived within four minutes of a residential alarm at 2465 Aspen Street N.E. Upon their arrival it was determined that suspect(s) had forced entry into the home and had fled. Upon checking a wooded and creek area east of the residence a suspect was apprehended lying along the creek in the weeds.

The suspect is identified as Damarcus Lee Nicholson B/M Age 21 of 2308 Brookdale Ave. N.W. Canton. The suspect was found in his possession electronic equipment later identified to be from the residence. The suspect was also carrying a black duffel bag containing a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun loaded, Midland two-way radio, Duct Tape, plastic wire ties.

The second suspect disappeared into the darkness and was located that evening.

Nicholson is charged with One count each of the following:
F-2 Burglary
F-4 Carrying a concealed weapon
F-5 Possession of Dangerous Ordnance
F-5 Having weapon while under disability
M-2 Possession Criminal Tools
M-2 Obstructing Official Business
M-2 Criminal Damaging or Endangering
MM possession of drugs (marijuana)

Nicholson was booked into the Stark County Jail on those charges. The investigation continues as to the identity of the second suspect. Anyone with information concerning the incident are asked to contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office at 330-430-3800.
